| Though E M J was born in Scottsboro, Alabama, He spent the majority of his childhood and teenage years with his two brothers and three sisters in the city of
Chattanooga, Tennessee. As a teen, E M J showed a deep interest in music. It wasn't until 1992, that he begin to write songs and ultimately made the decision to pursue a career in music. Fueled with the desire to learn about the business
aspect of the music industry, E M J made the decision to attend The Art Institute of Atlanta in 1993. There he majored in Music Business/Music Management. Unfortunately, after only five months of school E M J was forced to withdraw from the Institute because of family and financial problems. A short time after this event occurred E M J joined the US Army. He felt that this
would be the best way to get back into school because the Army was giving him money for college. While serving his two-year Obligation to the US Army, E M J met and fell in love with the woman who would eventually become his wife. In
1995, E M J extended his military career for three more years. During that time, the collection of songs that he had been writing over the years had grown to over twenty. In 1996, E M J decided to trash all of the songs that he had written over the years because of their explicit content. E M J felt that these songs would not be appropriate for his image, because he had received Christ in his life. After existing the US Army in 1998, E M J returned to college and Majored in Audio
Sound Technology and Broadcast Communications at Bates Technical College. E M J started his own record company in 1999 and began to write songs that presented a realistic yet positive message. These songs can now be heard on his 1999 debut album titled "E M J". This album was nominated one of the Best Rap / Hip-Hop Albums in the Seattle area for the Sounds Of Seattle 2001 Music Awards. E M J relocated to Montgomery, Alabama in 2001 his 2002 EP release
titled "A.L.A.B.A.M.A." received high reviews and initiates a brand new flavor for his 2003 Sophomore Album titled "STREET CREDIBILITY". This album
also received great reviews and shows that E M J has what it takes to not only reinvent himself but change the game all together. As a producer, E M J is looking to get his beats placed with artists that are backed by a strong independent or major label. E M J now resides in Marietta, Georgia and plans to release his third full length album in late 2005. |
