Schmit (bass, vocals). The Eagles are one of the best rock groups in the history of music. They revolutionized rock with their beautiful harmony and voice blending. They also could play their instruments very, very well. With Don Felder playing guitars, they sounded almost unhuman. It all started in 1970 in Los Angeles, Don Henley had moved from his home in Linden, Texas to pursue a music career. He was a young drummer and was looking to put together a band. He met Glenn Frey in a bar and a few months later they were singing backup in Linda Ronstant’s band. That’s where the two met Randy Miesner and Bernie Leadon, there soon after the four decided to form a band. Throughout the years the Eagles have let go and picked up many musicians. In 1975 Bernie Leadon left the band and Joe Walsh took over in his department. In 1977 Randy Miesner left and Timothy B. Schmit took over for him. Finally in 2001 Don Felder left the band, and the four current Eagles are Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh, and Timothy B. Schmit. The Eagles are my favorite band. They are in my opinion the best thing that ever happened to rock and roll.

Umm.... Whoa, there should be more forum topics for the Eagles. You can't get any better music than classic rock in my opinion.

LOS ANGELES, CA November 1st, 2005 -- The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation today announced their upcoming “65 Roses Texas Hold’em Poker Challenge,” a 2-day, celebrity-studded poker tournament and fundraising event Thursday December 8th, Friday 9th, 2005 at the Morongo Casino, Resort and Spa in Cabazon, CA.
The celebrities who are scheduled to attend are also excited to participate. Don Felder, the co-writer of the multi Grammy award winning hit song "Hotel California" will attend this important poker charity tournament. With 14 Grammy nominations and 4 wins, his signature guitar work has become legendary on songs like "Hotel California", "Life in The Fast Lane", "One Of These Nights" and "New Kid In Town". The album, The Eagles' Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975, has reached over 26 million copies, becoming the best-selling album of the 20th century.
The host for this event is the brand new $250 million Morongo Casino, Resort and Spa, located just 16 miles west of Palm Springs, California. The tournament itself will be held in the 12,500 square foot grand ballroom. Two nights of entertainment are planned at the fabulous night club and beach area of the resort. Special rates are also available for guests wishing to stay at the resort.
"We are very excited about being part of the hottest game in America, Texas Hold'em Poker," said Michael Shumard, director of special events, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. "Charity poker tournaments are popular events and we're very happy to be one of the leading organizations benefiting from the generosity of businesses like AlamoPoker.com, Morongo Casino, and Fox Sports Net."
The Tournament structure will also create increased excitement as the goal of this event is to hold a “fun” competition where there are no losers. To maximize the opportunity for all participants to have a great time at this fall’s Hottest Party in the Desert, the cost of admission and re-buys is geared to everyone’s pocketbook. Three events are being run under the umbrella of the 65 Roses Tournament. Entries range from $150 to win $5,000 to $250 to win $12,500 to $500 to win $27,500.
