Hailing from the musically prolific state of New Jersey, Ecotone got their start in late 2002. As the band grew, word of their energetic live show soon spread. After original members Bob, Dan, and Rohan sought out Jay as the new drummer, Ecotone recorded the "Malice is This Year's Fashion" EP with producer Jayson DeZuzio (Coheed and Cambria, My Chemical Romance). The CD broke the band into local noteriety.
Through constant playing and promoting in and out of their New Jersey base, they grew their name and fanbase and soon scored opening slots for bands such as Aiden, 36 Crazyfists, and The Bled amongst others. 2007 saw the release of "Here You Are, Here You Belong", the 6-song ep that captures Ecotone's emotionally charged balance of infectious choruses and catchy hooks, driving riffs, sharp breakdowns, and intense atmospherics. The disc was produced and mixed at Big Blue Meanie Studios (Thursday, Taking Back Sunday) and was soon selling via internet orders and iTunes downloads.
