By the age of 14 Eddie Benitez was surrounded by the legends of Latin/Jazz, Tito Puente, Mongo Santamaria, Charlie Palmieri, Louie Ramirez, and the Legendary Group “The Fania Allstars. Barry White,,Etc. Signing with Fania Records in 1976 at the
age of 14 Eddie’s first LP ” NightLife” went Gold. Performing at the Madison Square Garden . At the Age of 14 Eddie’s Impact on The New York City Music scene made headline Eddie would also perform at the Famous rock Punk Club CBGBs. Eddie Toured the World for several years and create a world Fanbase. Music Critics would Call Eddie “The Most Sensual Guitarist”. With the Guidance of Tito Puente and Mongo Santamaria Eddie would learn Percussion along the way. 1977 Fania Records would release “Benitez/Essence of Life“ LP. 1980 Eddie would sign with Island Records. Eddie was working for over a year for the Island release when he was struck with Advance Hodgkins a form of Cancer. Eddie would beat Hodgkins but there was a divine intervention that Eddie is now working on a book about his Musical life as well as his Spiritual life. 1999 Eddie’s first LP “NightLife” was re-released on CD and the CD did very well and again New Fans would enjoy the sound of Eddie Benitez. Eddie worked with Famed Producer Elis Pacheco in the 80s on Latin Freestyle tracks and in the early 90s Eddie would again embark with his new sound of Jazz, Latin, NewAge with a twist of passion and spirituality. Now under the Spiritual Guidance of the Father of Smooth Jazz George Benson Eddie’s Music has matured alot and still maintaining the simplicity of his Music as well as embracing the Passion and love of his Many Fans and Friends. The Next Chapter of Eddie’s Life will be full of Mystery.
