Emaline Delapaix is a Toronto based Australian singer songwriter who possesses the unique talent of being able to blend seductive vocals with fiery melodies, merging many genres of music to create her own delicious sound.
With the help of her all female co-conspirators, she has spent the last five years delighting and amusing audiences in Canada, USA, Europe and Australia, incoporating strings, guitar, piano, accordion, celtic harp, percussion and more.
This Winter, from Amsterdam to Cornwall, performing songwriter Emaline Delapaix is taking her show on the road, braving the weather, London traffic, and unidentifiable road trip food. Accompanied by Montana born pianist/singer/opening act Amy Seeley as well as special guests Emily McMillan on violin, Teresa Morini on bass/guitar and Lynda Vanden Elzen on flute for selected shows, Emaline will be bringing her eclectic folk/jazz/pop music to a venue near you.
Her influences range from Tori Amos, Neil Young, Split Enz, Crowded House, Finn Bros, Kate Bush, Anja Garbarek, Ani Difranco, Billy Bragg, Nina Simone, Bjork, Dar Williams, Stina Nordenstam, Lisa Ekdahl, Emiliana Torrini, Chris Isaak and many more.
Emaline's performances are fun, honest and captivating and incorporate anything from lilting lullabies to funky folk, jazz roots, latin, gypsy flavours, rockabilly, bluegrass, lazy cabaret and lush eclectic pop/rock from an Australian perspective, as well as a handful of foreign and traditional songs.
