"The female Johnny Ramone"
A very accurate description for Toronto's Emma-O, known for her driving, blistering rhythm guitar. A multi-instrumentalist with her hand in many creative pots, Emma-O breathes punk rock, life and exhuberance into every project she is involved with. When not writing and producing her own material (Emma-O, The Gloom) she contributes lead guitar and back-up vocal duties in the high-energy garage/punk rock band The Johnnys, as well as churning out psychedelic guitar effects for Dronica, a psychedelic/experimental project she started with Cowboy Junkies accordion player Jaroslaw Czerwinec.
Inexhaustably driven, Emma-O ploughs relentlessly ahead towards fulfilling her life-long dream of delivering music to the world. In addition to being a musician, she is a visual artist, a writer, a digital photographer, a web designer, internet marketer, activist and entrepreneur.
It has been said that there are many, many talented people in the world, but only those with persistence succeed. One glimpse into the window of Emma-O's creative, spiritual and diverse world will show you that Emma-O is indeed on the right track to glory...
