Enya was the very first artist that got me into music. What's special about Enya is that she doesn't fall into a specific category, and come on, how many artists sing in Gaelic, Latin, and Spanish? (there's a line or two of French in one of her songs I think).
Enya, Roma & Nicky Ryan deserves a lot of credit for the thoughtfullness and creativity they put into their music.

I truly got to know more about Enya through
my love of the Lord of the Rings films. I had
heard of her before...but really never paid
much attention to her music...until the films
came out. NOW, I notice that her music
relaxes me and takes me to a place where I
need to be on a daily basis. Her songs are
