Have any of you fucking HEARD Amy Lee live,
her voice may be nice when mixed, but she
really cant hit those high notes that are all
over the songs. I find both musical artists
to be quite terrible myself. By the way, what
does Amy Lee think she is, if Avril thinks

Guitar playing can be faked. For all we know
she could be just "strumming
away" having know idea what she is
playing. She defiantly isn't playing the
music in the videos. They use past recorded
stuff for those. I have never seen Avril live
nor do I know trivia about her though, so she
might play. Not that it makes me like her.
Playing guitar doesn't make you cool,
though if you are good it does entitled you
to some respect. From what I have heard her
guitarist(if it is her ever playing) isn’t

I have not seen her live literally because
there is no way I would pay to see a concert,
and it would not even be fun to go and make
fun of the freaks like at Gwar and CoF, but I
did hear some live from a video my friend
taped when he went to go make fun of people.
It was bloody awful. Some notes she could hit
and some notes were more like screeches.
Maybe she was just off that night, but I
ended up turning the sound off to watch the
video.
As for Nirvana....why does everyone love them
so much??? I think they are a pretty decent
band, if I am going to listen to the radio it
may as well be something like Interpol or
Nirvana, but damn, I dont think they are
*that* good. And if Cobain had not died,
would they still be as popular today? Most
people sitting around reading "the
Kurt Cobain diaries" whilst listening
to the Nevermind CD and ranting about how he
was a genius can't name any other grunge
bands....except the occasional "Pearl
Jam" or "Alice in

I hate how down hill music is going. Amy
might as well be the symbol for this, she is
a great example. Damn idiot kids, listening
to whatever happens to be on the walls of Hot

out random obscurities and play the electric
guitar sub-par-ly. I mean, holy shit. They
talk about how much they hate pop and how
unique their music is, then they buy t-shirts
of an artist who IS pop, only with an
electric guitar and drums. It is the biggest
load of crap. Somebody should teach a class
on how to properly cut your wrists so those

idiocy won't have to deal with them. There
is no other way to get rid of them, they are

We couldn’t even fix their music tastes to
make them a little less annoying as all fuck.
Even if a band with actual talent were to
gain popularity, they wouldn’t actually
appreciate the music. They’d rape it! It
would just make then more unbearable. That
and they would still dress like
'misunderstood' freaks. Doesn't it
bother then that their oh-so original and
rebellious clothes are mass produced in a
factory somewhere in China? Those clothes
aren't even brand name, but they cost you
a kidney! I’d rather spend $60 on clothes I
know are good and will last then that crap

some people like that though, since they buy
the pants and shirts with holes in them
already. Pay twice as much for clothes that
will last a shorter amount of time! What a
deal! If you people like holes so much wear
yours until they are full of holes. It will
save you money anyways, since you can wear

learn that that person may be doing her own
thing, (What you described would be TOTALLY
individual where I am from) and she may
actually be happy with what she is, and the
way she dresses, and where she gets her

functioning human being out there who shops
at hot topic. despite that though, hot topic
represents something. it is the very
incarnation of conformity and superficiality

so may be Clandestine girl, and that they may
be older or younger than who ever; but each
person matures at their own rate of speed.
You have not taken this into consideration.
As soon as someone is confused about a
certain subject, you call them an idiot and
are very quick to tell them why, and what
they should be thinking on the subject. I
understand completely that you may be right,
but this usually accomplishes nothing.
There I have explained why other people,
younger and older cannot become as insightful

to us, but if you really want to become
intelligent you have to seek things out. You
need drive. People should never just go at
their "natural pace". We should
all be going out and absorbing more
information, forming opinions, ect. As we do
that, we will realize there is more we
don't know and we will strive to learn
that. In society, their will always be people
who remain ignorant(extremely so, I mean).
This is often necessary for things to
function. Still, this bothers me. Nobody
should want to be these people. If you
realize what I am saying yet do nothing to
widen your horizon, that is what really
bothers me. Why does no one want to be
intelligent? Do you value knowledge? Never
mind, it doesn't matter. No one will read
this and decide that they should change. No
one will suddenly find value in their
humanity, in their ability to surpass natural
limits. You are all sheep! That is what you
will always be. Now you all flock to Hot
Topic and buy your trendy,

First, you missed my point again. I was
trying to get it across without having to
write an autobiograpy, but I guess I have to
anyway:
You said that when a person goes to Hot Topic
and buys exclusivly "Gothic"
clothing, without ever hearing the phrase
"Gothic", that says something.
Poor confused Mr. Armand...
I went with a few friends one day, my first
day at a Mall living in a small town, and we
happened upon Hot Topic. In all its
"glory and splendour".
*Sarcasm* Anyway, we were interested, so we
walked on in, and bought some stuff. I have
only shopped there twice since.
You must understand that where I come from,
NOBODY has the slightest sence of
individuality, even a false one. Men: Jeans +
T-shirt. Women: Same thing. EVERYBODY.
I had never SEEN anything else. I've still
never seen anyone else with my style. I was
never going along with a trend. And people
don't call me "Gothic"; they
never have. I live where everyone knows
everyone else. People knew that I wasn't
some violent, ignorant metal-head, who is
theatrically depressed. Even people who
DON'T know me don't see me that way; My
clothing has never sent anyone that message,
and I don't believe that it ever will.
I write this simply because you should know
where I am coming from here. I am using
something that Mr. Armand taught me: (Believe
it or not)

In my opinion, Gothic is DEAD. Let it die.

anyway. The founders had their era, now that
is over. Life goes on. Goth-Rock Goth is
over. Dead. Dried up and evapourated. Just
like every movement, culture and trend that
comes along will eventually do.
Clothing-
Let people think what they want when they
look at me. People other than my friends mean
nothing to me anyway; nothing at all. I will
shop anywhere I please, be it Hot Topic,
Discontent, Mr. Raggs, Pamida or Wal-Mart.

Most stereotypes are based off observations.

Many people say that black people like fried
chicken. The fact is that there is a great
number of black people in the south, due to
the whole slavery things and people not
wanting to move. A lot of people in the south
eat fried chicken. Kentucky fried chicken, in
Kentucky and states around it. Get it? So
from that people based that many black
Americans like fried chicken.
I have label people by observation, much like
this. They are not true for everyone, but
they are true for many.

not be quiet. When you call yourself
something, then that is labeling yourself.
You are usually doing it to fit in with a
group of people, because you feel the need to
define youreself instead of saying,
"I'm a person just like everyone
else in the world, and I am Me, and this
makes me an individual." There is
nobody else in the world who is you, so why
do you want to take that away by pigeonholing
yourself into a label, or
"culture". And if you ARE
right, Vampy, and goth IS a culture and not a
label, so what? One who is goth is
conforming to a social group, and that makes
one a SHEEP. Get over it. I bet you are a
high school kid. You think you know
everything until you see the real world and
realize you know nothing.
And one question; How does the fact that
someone listens to a certain kind of music
mean they are most likely stupid or
unoriginal? If something speaks to you,

Spears, how is that related to your

I'm sorry if I focus so much on teenage
stupididty, but I see a lot of that here.
When I got out of high school, I realized the
difference between that and the real world
because most people above high school age
don't care what music you listen to or how
you dress. Most people are more worried
about living their own life than what they
think someone else is, or what someone else
thinks they are. You grow up and realize
that life is not about being a prep, punk,
yo, poser,etc. What does all that mean when
there is rent to be paid and/or kids to feed?
What does any of that matter when you get in
an accident and are out of work, can't pay
your rent and get evicted? You are on the
street with nowhere to go. This is some of
the real world I've seen, and fitting in
with a petty little group based on music and
clothing isn't going to help you.
And yes, people do try to look decent for an
interview. That is one of society's
norms, like bathing. It is necessary to do
this to make money to live. There is really
no choice unless you want to live in a
dumpster or the woods. I am not talking
about surviving in society, I'm talking
about unnecessary labeling and following.
Being part of a culture(as in the country you
live in)and following most norms and laws is
not a choice unless you want to go to jail or
be broke and homeless.
It does matter whether you are a sheep or
not, because if
you are a follower, you miss out on knowing a
lot of great people who aren't in your
group. Many people who identify with a
certain group tend to be prejudiced toward
people who don't fit in with their style.
Some people you never associated with could
be your best friend in the world, if you got
to know them instead of being with your group
of people who are all mostly the same. I
never followed any group, and I ended up with
a very diverse group of friends. My best
friend is the exact opposite of me in music
and clothing taste. I am friends with her
because we share the same views on life, have
the same anxieties, and basically think the
same way. We appreciate each other's
differences. If I just stuck with one
particular group of people or culture(ok,
I'll give you the culture thing) I would
have never met her, and never would have met
any of my other friends.
To me, being an individual is important
because everyone is their own work of art.
Would you paint a picture and then alter it
to look like someone else's? This guy I
know tried to decide what label I would fit
into, just joking around one day, and he said
"I can't put you into a category.
You're just Becky. You're an original
and you have your own style."
That was such a compliment. I wouldn't
want to be thought of as "that
prep/goth/punk/whatever girl that hangs out
with all the others." What does it
matter? It matters a lot to me, and if it
doesn't matter to you, then I'm sorry.
You will miss out on a lot of frienships and
experiences that will teach you more about
yourself and others. You learn more from
people who are different than you, so why
identify with one group?

Here I am again on this forum, acting like a
hypocrite. I know, I know, I am not welcome
here, but I just have to say one thing.
I was re-reading my posts. ...and laughing. I
really am the Idiot here. Moreso than SOAD,
Avii or whoever, quite possible moreso than
PigBenis. It all began when I read the post
that Synthetic dreams wrote. "We're

Yes, that simple post. I realized that I
don't know how to THINK. I lack the
intelligence to make useful posts, and
sharing my opinions is ludacris. (Althought I

I have been on Isound for four years now, I
just finally discovered the forums this year,
(wonderful example of my supreme
intelligence), and I know now that it would
be better if I had not have found them. So, I
am making a smart choice and forgetting that

I found this all to be a very entertaining,

Christianity, which is also labelled in a
way. When most see a christian, they think of
a Loser who likes to force their beliefs on
others. In reality, I care less of others
