Fabolous, born John Jackson, was born in Brooklyn, New York. His mixture
of Dirty South and West Coast Gangsta made him an overnight superstar
in the summer of 2001. Fabolous was made famous by DJ Clue. Clue picked
the rapper to become the first artist on his independent label, Desert
Storm. Fabolous’s debut album, Ghetto Fabolous, debuted in 2001. The
debut single entitled, “I Can’t Deny It,” did well. Another single from
the album, “Trade it All,” discusses the rapper wanting to propose to
his longtime girlfriend. Ghetto Fabolous featured Ja Rule, Lil’ Mo,
Timbaland, and Nate Dogg.
