Father Bloopy rises from sunny Miami Beach, Florida…a city where electronic music, expensive nights and sexy beaches are plentiful.
It is this unlikely scenario where Father Bloopy creates their sound, a defiant concoction of energetic, risky, art-rock with classic pop sensibilities. Add those sleek, catchy melodies and unconventional, quirky lyrical content and BAM! We have a group worthy of YOUR listening and worthy of YOUR attention!
The group is under the direction of Roger Houdaille, whose ideas and songs are arranged and rendered by the others. Roger’s musical tastes are acquired ones—to say the least. It is no doubt that part of the Father Bloopy sound is akin to Roger’s intense collection and knowledge of obscure 60s and 70s pop, rock, progressive and beyond. The focus Roger has invested on those “analog” years creates a retro vibe, even when tackling the modern styles of reggaeton or AOR.
For the past few years, it is safe to say Father Bloopy has been rather quietly waylaying in the shadows, making only a little noise with rare live appearances. Those usually consisting of different musicians, styles, and in the case of the 2005 Christmas Tour: themes.
The time has come to get serious and with the earnest, independent release of Ginger, Baby in September 2007, Father Bloopy accomplishes just that.
The ambition now is to find the audience. To find those discerning listeners who will appreciate, interact, and inspire the future. Find those who may just see “two tays too, today!” |
