Feeder was originally formed in 1992, but thew current line-up came together in 1995. Grant and John went to london and found Taka to play bass for them. The band soon signed to Echo and started touring and playing gigs. They also released a 'mini-album' called 'Swim' which contained six tracks and made a huge impression on the UK rock scene. With this album and lots more touring, the band soon gained many fans.

In May 1997, the band released their first proper album, 'Polythene' which was voted Album of the Year by Metal Hammer. The album contained the singles 'Descend' and 'My Perfect Day'. That summer Feeder played mamy festivals across the country. One song that became the bands anthem, was 'High'. In spring 1998, the band interruped a US tour to come home and play 2 nights in london, despite Grant having a cracked jaw-bone.

For the rest of the year, Feeder continued with their mammoth US tour (125 dates all together), before returning to the UK to record their next album, 'Yesterday Went Too Soon'. The album was mixed by Grant and Andy Wallace, who also worked on Nirvana's 'Nevermind'. In the spring of 1999 the band toured, and the album was a great success. The band also played Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds through the course of the year.

In 2000, the band headlined the Carling Premier Award Shows, in January in London. They also toured Australia for the first time. John Lee married Brazillian model, Tatiana Englehart, in miami. For the rest of the year Grant wrote the bands third album.

2001 was probably Feeder's most successful, as it saw the release of their third album, 'Echo Park' and the single 'Buck Rogers' which entered the charts at number 5, the bands highest chart position yet. Their tours in March and April were both sold out. The second single from the album was 'Seven Days in the Sun' entered the charts at #14.

The band played Reading, Leeds and T in the Park to massive crowds, after releasing a third single from 'Echo Park', 'Turn'. They then toured the Uk and Europe with Stereohponics. The single, 'Just a Day' reached nuber 12 in the charts in December.

Unfortunately, John Lee committed suicide on the 7th January 2002. The band decided to continue playing, after a short break. Grant said 'We will miss him more than melody', while Taka said 'We're utterly devastated' They also said that John would have wanted them to continue playing, 'I feel Jon would have wanted us to carry on'

Their fourth album, 'Comfort in Sound' contained the singles 'Come Back around' and 'Comfort in Sound'.
