Fenix*TX, original name Riverfenix, was formed in 1995. Houston-based band consists of singer/guitarists Willie & Damon, Adam the bassist and drummer Donnie. The group didn't do much into the late '90s, where they went on tour with other bands like Home Grown and The Hippos on the "Mullets Across America Tour" in 1997.
That summer, the band recorded a self-titled debut for Drive-Thru records, owned by Universal. Fenix got a lot of attention and airplay after doing a cover of "Ordinary World" on a Duran Duran tribute album. This led to tours with punk bands like The Suicide Machines and Blink-182. In 1999, Riverfenix changed their name to Fenix*TX and got on the Vans' Warped Tour the same year they recorded their second full-length record.
