Filthy Finesse's Biography
Born Darrington Jerome Richardson on September 19, 1986, his mother, a 26 year old woman, knew there was something special about her second child, other than being the largest child in the nursery. At age 11, upon the return of his father from Bosnia, the birth of a brother, and the departer of his older brother, he found himself ignored and forgotten. With his father's new found habit growing more and more expensive, and the family suffering as a result, the childhood of Filthy Finesse was not fun and games.
At first only making music to relieve stress and express his deepest feelings, the reaction of listeners brought him attention that he wasn't used to. Too embarrassed to bring too many people into his personal life and business he began making music for entertainment purposes.
The largest transition came in High School. He spent 2 of his 3 years living outside of his parent's house hustling and staying with close friends. Months before his sophomore year, he recorded his first song in a real studio (Produced by Conscious). With only one song, Sean Roux (Engineer/ Producer/ Writer/ Singer/ Composer) saw enough potential to feature him on his personal project.
That December Filthy began negotiations with Rugged Child. With his new found confidence he began freestyling for audiences, jumping into ciphers and taking all challengers for battles. Going undefeated (till this day) he grew board and became consumed with the streets, using school only to hustle and socialize. With only 9 tracks under his belt (5 original), the Rugged Child deal official, and his expulsions from 2 schools in one year, the streets had taken its toll half way through his junior year.
Extremely disappointed in himself and frustrated he turned his attention to back to his music but still living in the streets, grinding was a must. Months later, he was sent to jail. Once he was released he moved from Raleigh to Smithfield, a smaller city, where he got his GED but quickly caught a felony plus 2 years probation.
Reunited with his mother for the first time in 3 years, his father finally out of her life and a little brother watching him, he chose this opportunity to get completely out of the hustle game. He finished a mix tape, began recording for an album, and has been doing shows every since.
With an unbelievable flow, a story to tell, and an unmatchable swagger Filthy Finesse's success thus far is no surprise. With his popularity growing daily, and shows he's done with famed rappers such as Dip Set and Project Pat, he's simply waiting for the perfect time to make his presence felt and his name known.
Original, Innovative, with the Quality of the Industry, yet determined to be different. With songs of Epic proportions, not good for now alone, but timeless Compositions and Collaborations. Filthy Finesse, from Raleigh NC, took his God given talent with words and matured it, now he's, hands down, one of the best in his time, north, south, east, and west. Literally a legend in the making, "The Hitman" has finished 14 songs, all of them masterpieces in their own genre. Since they (the lyrics) are rawer than they probably should be, he properly named the Project "Filthy". Be apart of his legacy.
