Finger Eleven consists of Sean Anderson (bass), Rich Beddoe (drums), Rich Jackett (guitar), Scott Anderson (vocals), and James Black (guitar). The group, which stems from Burlington, Ontario, Canada, formed in high school under the name Rainbow Butt Monkey. The band had consisted of all the original members except drummer Rich Beddoe, Rather, Rob Gommerman had been the group’s drummer. Rainbow Butt Monkey played at local concerts and eventually ended up winning a local talent show sponsored by a hometown radio station. The group used their prize money to record their first album. The group’s debut album was titled Letter From Chutney. Soon after the album was completed, Gommerman left the band and was replaced by Beddoe.
The group then changed their name to Finger Eleven. A lot of people have the belief that the group picked the name from a male body part. This is not true. Rather, the group got the idea for the name from their song, “Tin Spirits,” which is on their Tip album. Soon after changing their name, F11 singed to Canada’s Mercury Label. They soon then signed to the New York City based label, Wind-Up records. On September 15, 1998, F11 released Tip. The album contained the single, “Above.”
On July 25, 2000, F11 released The Greyest of Blue Skies on Wind-Up Records. The album contained the accredited single, “Drag You Down.” At the time of the album release, band members stated that “Drag you Down,” was their darkest song to date. They also stated that the track, “My Carousel,” was their most complicated song to date. In February 2003, F11 was featured on the Daredevil Soundtrack.
On June 17, 2002, F11 released a self-titled album that was produced by Johnny K (Disturbed). The album, which took eighteen months to record, was sold with a complimentary DVD featuring the band in the studio and shots of them hanging out at home. The single, “Therapy,” was written when singer Scott Anderson was sitting in a parking lot at a grocery store. During their time when they were recording this album, the members of F11 placed a cell phone number on their website. They encouraged fans to call the number to leave messages concerning the band, questions, or any comments they wanted. The band said they wanted their fans to feel a connection with them.
In late 2003, F11 released Good Times.

Hmm.... 1-2 of their songs aren't that bad. Not hard but neither that soft. "Thousand Mile Wish" & "one Thing" was really quite good.

| I'm sorry but all of Finger Eleven's songs aren't bad, their new album was spectular, and it's just as good as their first and second albums, you should hear them all. Listen to "Sick of it All" which is probably their best song ever recorded, I sure wish they had released it. | gotahemmi | i really love the song ''one thing'' i absolutely love the message it sends...they played that song at my brothers funeral though, thats kinda why i like it so much | sullyssosexy | | | |
