Who are these shaolin punks?
Zoltan Bathory (guitars) before he formed 5.F.D.P. he was kicking up dust with U.P.O. (Sony/Epic) and a long row of European metal bands. His euro riffs and unorthodox style of shreddage gives the band its signature machinegun-like onslaught. Before Five Finger Death Punch, Ivan Moody {Gh0st } fronted Motograter (Elektra) - Hit Paraders' - 2004 Best Band Of The Year - Commanded 30,000+ crowds at Ozzfest, been all over the covers of metal magazines, toured with Korn, Disturbed, Marilyn Manson, Shadows Fall, Killswitch among many others, and rumor has it, after years on the road all the strippers know him on the first name basis in every larger U.S. city
Jeremy Spencer (drums) was Hollywoods best kept secret until now. The young nameless assassin who has recorded albums for people you all know but he can't mention, or been hired by metal legends to fill in for their tours. He's also the creator of the Drums From Hell - Extreme Metal Drum Loops CD - that recording studios and composers use world wide when theyre in need for some double bass mayhem. His Pedal to the metal attitude doesn't stop there... he possibly holds the record for "the most speeding tickets in LA County".
Matt Snell (bass) "SnELVIS the King" came from underground fave "Anubis Rising" - an acclaimed experimental metal outfit, and "Deadsett" a promising heavy weight featuring former Pissing Razors front man. Matt has mixed and produced several felow metal bands that are coming up strong in the LA scene, and time to time he even lends his chops for a show or two... since all of his "finger works" are pretty impressive - not juts the "middle one" ...
Darrell Roberts (guitars) is probably another familiar face... He's no stranger to arenas near you. He was the young guitar slinger that emerged in W.A.S.P. a few years ago. Jeremy was drumming for them for a period of time, and became good friends with Darrell... So when 5FDP was looking for another guitar ninja who was quick with the metal. Darrell was the perfect assassin for the job. He was freshly out of W.A.S.P., armed to the chin and ready to go back to the kill zone... just what the death punch needed.
Whats going on ?
The band just finished its debut album titled "The Way Of The Fist"
No NU Metal, Glue Metal or anything hybrid or hyphenated. Its TRUE metal... Undiluted, Raw as metal was always meant to be. In fact for 5.F.D.P. it was important that everyone involved at any stage of this recording was a diehard metal head.
