Freddy Powers’ musical talents are as vast and varied as Texas. This songwriter, singer, musician and producer has won numerous CMA and BMI Awards, including CMA’s Triple Play Award. In 2006, Freddy was inducted into the Texas Heritage Songwriter’s Hall of Fame and received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Texas Guitar Association. Freddy’s songs have been recorded by Merle Haggard, Ray Charles, George Jones, Willie Nelson, The Wilburn Brothers, Janie Fricke, Rattlesnake Annie and newcomers John Cody Carter, Big & Rich and many more.
Though born in Oklahoma Freddy is a true “Texan” all the way with several famed Texas songs including the title track for James Michener’s movie “Texas”. Other “Texas Themed” songs include “Texas and Oklahoma,” “My San Antonio Rose,” “Texas All the Way” and “One Less Honky Tonk in Texas,” a chart topper recorded by Pauline Reese.

Diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2004, Freddy vows to help other Texas patients through his Foundation.
