Garbage is composed of Shirley Manson as the lead vocalist, Steve Marker and Duke Erikson with guitars and Butch Vig on the drums.
It all began when Butch and Steve, purchased an old warehouse in '84 to create Smart Studious. While still living in their garage days, they released 3 rock albums. They earned a living by recording singles for local bands. Their most significant work would be Nirvana's Nevermind and Sonic Youth's Dirty in the 90s.
It was in '93 that Duke Erikson came into the picture, as all three found themselves working on remixes for bands like the Nine Inch Nails.
At this moment, Shirley Manson was still doing vocals for a band called Angelfish, that the boys decided to pursue her to join them to form what we now know as Garbage.
Their debut album was relased in '95, and suddenly they were known by every one. 4 million copies were sold to date.
The critics were blown away with singles such as 'Queer' 'Only happy when it rains' and as they sung their way into the Romeo and Juliet soundtrack with 'Number one Crush'. The band had won the mass appeal and critical acclaim by the time they relased their second album Version 2.0.
Likewise with their third album - Beautiful Garbage, it reeked with raw sexual magnetism, with the explosive, conflicting lyrics and hypnotic beats.
The kingdom lives, like all good music does, in the land where perfection is resented and also deeply desired and we continue to be hypnotised...

I found out a few days ago my cousin has been diagnosed with brain cancer. Her name is Crystal Osborne Greenhill ,she is 23 years old and has a two year old daughter. She was the only one working in the family. The doctors say stage four is the worst for cancer of this kind, she is at a stage three, and only found out three days ago. This was a huge shock to everyone. She will begin treatments ASAP,and have to travel five days a week to the Markee Cancer Center for the treatments. With no income now ,this will be very hard to do in gas money alone,not to mention the medical expenses.
