Elgin Baylor Lumpkin, known to the world as Ginuwine, was born to James and Sandra Lumpkin on October 15, 1975 in Washington DC. Elgin began showing his musical talent at the age of 12 with the musical influence coming from his idol Micheal Jackson. While working on his music career Elgin Also attended and graduated from Prince Georges Community College were he studied and recieved a Paralegal Degree.
After graduating, this intelegent fine looking young man met the rookie producer, at the time, Timberland in New York. The two recorded Ginuwine's first immediatly successful album "The Bachler" with the sexy R&B million dollar hit "Pony" reaching the number one spot on the billboard R&B chart. The 21 year old was now on his way with the new recording artists 550 music.
Being as talented as Ginuwine is he also made his acting debut in November 1998, appearing in the CBS series Martial Law. However still involved with his music came out with his second album intitled 100% Ginuwine another showcase for his classy vocal skills featering the hit "So Anxious". Then later, coming out with his third album "The Life" featering the beautiful slow jam Differences for all of us ladies. The boys were also feeling the song, "Differences," singing the song for there ladies.
This talented entertainer has shown his talents on the mike as well as on the dance floor. With his sexy dance moves, making every female wishing Ginuwine was there man, he went to the top. Ginuwine, with three succesful albums, is not done yet. In 2001 Ginuwine appered in the movie comedy "Jawana Man" as Romeo who played the sexy singer and player boyfriend of Vivica A. Fox. After Ginuwine came out with his fourth album "The Senior" with the hit singles "Hell Yeah" feat. Baby, "In Those Jeans," and "Stingy." He also appeared in the 2003 movie "Honey."
Ginuwine has becaome every females dream man and an idol for every young male singer. The outstanding talent that Ginuwine has shared with the world has kept us wanting more. He is a fine young man with a beautiful gift and we can not wait to hear what is coming next for our R&B super star, GINUWINE!
