Gone Awry was started in the summer of 2002. They started as a local high school band with a loyal following of fans. With the release of the “Sue Demo” (2003) the band realized their budding commercial appeal to more than just teenagers. Forging full speed ahead they recorded and produced a full length album, “The Best Laid Plans” (late 2003). The album was a hit among the local scene and continues to sell today. With the release of their first full length album Gone Awry toured the metro-Detroit area in full force. Playing such venues as Clutch Cargo’s, Alvin’s, Emerald Ballroom, State Theater, The Shelter, and St. Andrews the band of five from Livonia gained a large loyal following. Not only has the band played these famous venues, but they’ve played with many of the up and comers in the music scene. They love what they do, and that is obvious from their live performance. Their live show makes people fall in love with their own brand of indie inspired pop punk. After playing the same set for a few years the band naturally evolved and started to write even better songs. The days of high school love weren’t lost but they took a back burner to the struggles of everyday life that we all face. The band is currently in the process of recording their second, yet to be titled, full length album. They recently signed with a new start up/self run label, Cambourne Records, and is excited to be working with a team of people that share the same dream as they do. These guys are a bunch of hard working hilarious guys that once you meet, you won’t forget. These guys are not to be dismissed, their talent and skill proves they are here to stay.
