Born and raised in NEW YORK CITY, GSON grew up into the GOLDEN ERA of Hip-Hop. Running through Harlem, Manhattan, and the Boogie Down Bronx, G$ attended blockparties at all the live spots. He was a natural SON of the Hip-Hop culture. At the age of 7 the young DON was already listening and studying GANGSTER RAP.
The artists who inspired GSON at this early stage in his life were EAZY-E, ICE CUBE, N.W.A, RAKIM, KOOL G RAP, BIG DADDY KANE, SLICK RICK and a few others. In 1994 he began rapping with his brother Shawn-aka Killa Qwik. They later linked up with Eric-CHOZE1 and SILVA DOLLA CLICK was established in1996. GSON made a name for himself by battling in street ciphers all across NYC and OHIO. The name GODSON, (which was created in reference to The Godfather), became known all through the underground scene of Harlem and the BX.
In 1998 GSON moved to Alabama where he linked up with his family at ROCHOUZE REKORDZ. With guidance from Sonny Blac and production by Mr. ROMEO, GSON was developed and groomed into a Master of the ART. By 2004 GSON had become a underground superstar and a proven force in the music industry. Along with the ROCHOUZE SYNDICATE they did shows with high profile stars like 36 MAFIA, T.I., LIL JON, and others. GSON than formed a group called MONEYMAKERZ with his brothers Johnny Gotdamnit and Gatewood Maxamillion.
Their debut album “EVERYTHING'S4SALE” created a buzz in the south, east coast and the midwest with underground recognition from several labels and distributors.
With his focus on "CASHING IN" GSON promises to make 07 his breakthrough year.
