| Swedish RNB has been competent for a very long time, but it's content has mostly been about naked souls and a filosophical dept. Now Hani steps in and replaces that dept with a steady and heavy baseground that makes the disturbance duty turn out after pressure from apartments several blocks away.
Hani makes street-RNB-clubbmusic with stronger roots in the streetculture than it has in legendaric soul.
The 21 years old singer Hani Alwani is born and raised in Uppsala (Sweden) but has his roots in Syria.
When Hani was just 11 years old he started breakdancing and were soon competing all over Sweden, but 9 years later one of his friends asked him to sing a chorus in a song.
This became the turningpoint and the beggining for his career as an artist.
After the debutsingle "Lady" he's been participating in songs with over 40 different rap artists and has been pre band to several different groups.
Hanis first appearance on a record was when he appeared on the track "Enkelt val" from Fjärde världens second record "Gatumusikanter" that was out in the stores in 2004, but it was thru the track "My song" that he made a name of himself beyond the Swedish borders.
What Hani does isn't about the Swedish tall poppies syndrome, it's not about lifting his hat for soul legends...
What it's about is standing with your legs wide, nod your head and dear to hit yourself in the chest - and for Hani this is a matter of course so it's just to surrender. |
