| HEAD seethes with energy and it shows in the sound. The music hits like a train; strong forward motion and unified downbeats mixed with the raw force of powerful purr-turned-sledgehammer vocals. They’ve shared stages with hi-powered acts including Collective Soul, Lacuna Coil, King’s X, Fishbone and Trik Turner, have been featured on CN8 and FOX news and have gotten airplay with Jaxon on Philadelphia’s 93.3 WMMR and Las Vegas’s The Ryff show with Jay Mack.
Vocalist Lexi Greene, guitar player Michael Zimney, Bass player Mark Greene and keyboardist Tori Ryzner had already been writing together for years before drummer Ron DiSilvestro was persuaded in 2000 to join the fold and complete the vision that was to become HEAD. The result is that the entire unit pulses together as a single living, breathing whole.
Having caught the band’s live show at a club on the outskirts of Philly, Grammy-winning producer/engineer Phil Nicolo (Bob Dylan, Ray Charles, Dishwalla, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Anthrax, The Police) brought the band into Studio4 for eight intensive days of recording. Using only vintage analog equipment, the result is a weighty, richly textured 10-song CD titled “Look Without Seeing”. It is a power plant of aggressive guitar and vocal driven grooves punctuated with bursts of spacious keyboards and synths. It debuts a new sort of Rock that breaks convention as much as it instantly resonates. The impression it leaves is crystal clear - this is not just another band from Philly, this is the beginning of a much deeper strike.
