We are a band from Hjørring in Denmark. That’s in Northern Jylland for those of you who don’t know. We started Heading South in February 2003 when Hølle joined us on bass chores. Before this we were called “Our First Name Sucked” and once in a while when we would play a show, the set consisted of nothing but coversongs. At this point we had no ambitions what-so-ever, besides having fun and hanging out with our friends.
With the new bassplayer we were now 4 good friends gathered around our biggest interest, music and it was not until this that we felt that we had a real band and we experienced a connection we hadn’t felt before.
We started writing our own songs and we could finally express our own feelings, thoughts and ideas through our music. Even though Hølle had only played bass for 3 months, we decided to go into the studio in the beginning of May, 2003 to record our first EP – “A Ride Home”.
With our first recording we have based an ambitious band as well as a great friendship. Two things we value.. |
