Hell On Wings is so new they don't have a bio yet, but here it is.
Lead Singer Terry James extricated himself from Philly and jaunted to Florida to recover from over two years of tragedy after tragedy. He met Dan Ames and they began to play together. George then happened in and he started playing with the band. Finally, Brian Zurka popped in one day to play bass.
This all happened within only a few weeks. There were problems at first, Terry had pneumonia, Brian had just finished shoulder surgery and was limited in the hours he could play bass, George got lost on the beach for a while, but Dan was the rock in the middle of the gathering.
Terry used his last few years to sum up the band's name "Hell On Wings." "It's like you think life is so great and you're an Angel, then you fall into Hell. Getting out requires bringing a few souls along with you, getting your wings singed, and you're flaming! There's a lot more to it, but that will have to wait for the first release of the 5 upcoming albums."
The first projected release date was 4 July 2008. Terry's two months of pneumonia says it will be a miracle if they pull it off, still, sometime later this year the album will be out, the self-titled album "Hell On Wings."
The backgrounds of all band members [and there appear to be more coming to the roster] are better read in a mag interview. "That's not too far off" according to the band.
In the same grain as the bands they admire, NickelBack, Three Days Grace, Three Doors Down, StainD, Alice In Chains, Jane's Addiction, Breaking Benjamin, Nirvana, PearlJam, Future Leaders of the World, OffSpring, ShineDown, Collective Soul, The Smashing Pumpkins, PennyWise, currently, they're pumping out dynamics that go from bottom to top, acoustic to Screamin Rock N Roll!
All well rounded players from lots of previous bands this is the Apex band of their careers, Hell On Wings.
Stay tuned for concerts and release dates.
