Rollins,Hank, aka Henry Garfield. Started out in a band called S.O.A in DC. He went to the Bullis School, where an amazing teacher gave him more of a reason to be, than that of his own father and introduced him to weights. As Hank tells it he told him to go buy a set 100lb set of weights and do the lifting he taught him. He also told him that he was going to belt him whenever he wasn't aware ,not to look into a mirror until he said it was ok , and oh yeah dont tell a soul. So Hank went to Sears he had trouble getting the weight into his mothers car. For a while he did exaclty as the teacher said doubling in the halls and everyone looking at him bizarrly until one day he didnt bend. The teacher said you can look now and he did. That began the transformation. Henry managed a Haggendaus icecream store when he and friends( Ian Mckaye of Fugazi) were listing to the new punk of the DC area. Black Flag was head lining one night and Henry jumped up on stage just full blown. Two weeks later they called him about joining . Not being the leader of the band. Just the vocals. It was a dream come true for someone who could only dream in that box. They toured in a crappy van, lived a bohemian lifestyle and had a hell of a good time doing it. Then with a phone call , not even face to face, Greg Ginn the leader of the band called it was over. Hank wouldnt let it die. He collaborated with Andrew Weiss and thus began Rollins Band.During this same time making his first staple book. He said "I think I gave more away than I sold" .Since that time Henry has been in a number of films. He writes articles ,does commentary for rocumentaries, voices for video games(Mace Griffin) ,GMC ads,Teen Titan bits, puts out a new book every little bit.Does character parts in movies most recently. The warden in the"New Guy",FBI lead man in Bad Boys II , not to mention hosting, two shows,FUll Metal Challenge, and Night Visions. He has done and probably always will spoken word shows.Which contain alot of the material his books spawn from but is worth being there for if you can take the music shows. This lady prefers both. He has recently toured with an LA Band Mother Superior who in Hanks words are "fun guys to be around" They are not Rollins Band though he wanted them to keep their identity. He has put his face forward for charity and causes also. The Hollygrove Childrens Home, and The West Memphis Three. He is on tour now doing Spoken Word. There is an unsurmountable amount of information on the web if you know where to look. His publishing company site is 2.13.61 publications after his birthday which he named when he thought he would be the only writer he published. Mucho Gusto information there too. He hasnt stopped yet and I dont think he is about to . He is down to earth not self serving just self preserving. Loves ebay as much as the next guy and keeps to himself AMAP. Appreciates his fans but thinks that putting to much time into anything isnt constructive, even if it is himself. He just recently went to visit the military and said it opened his eyes to alot of things.Confimed others.
Check him out it is worth the look.
