Bring It On Fav Song
So what's your fav song(s) on the "Bring It On" cd?
My two favorites are "Caught In A Blonde" and "S.O.B". I think they must go together actually. One tells of a guy dumping his girlfriend for a blonde and the other tells of a dumped girlfriend killing her ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend!!!!
Talk about reality TV, this must be reality song writing!! hahaha

| Arg, not happy! I don't have this CD yet! | spottyslippers |
um, id say my favorite is Walk Like A Zombie. or S.O.B...i love patricia's voice in SOB.
oh! oh! and freaks in uniform...cause i love how kamilla and naomi (apparently aka no-no...i think thats a new thing for this cd) chant H-O-R-R-O-P-O-P | shadowbug26 |
Wow, I didn't expect any posts here that quick! I posted this topic right before I went to bed at like 6am and here it is only like 5 hrs later and you 2 already got in here!
What do you do, live on iSound? Well, if you do, it is a nice neighborhood!!! | GrayBeard |
Ok, so now I see on the cd liner about Kamilla & No-No did backup chant in Freaks.
So if all the backup vocal guests are listed on the liner, then that means that all the other backup female parts must be Patricia overtracks. Cool. | GrayBeard |
my ass is permantly attached to the computer chair. its pathetic.
but theres also a time difference, so yeah...
im really confused on why naomi is suddenly going by NoNo....its so...odd | shadowbug26 |
Because of my eyes we use NSNTV which puts all this stuff on my TV where I can see it better. It runs REALLY SLOW, which is good since that lets me rest my eyes a lot.
But this also allows me to do iSound or whatever and listen to music tv and switch back and forth easily. That's pretty nifty (see, I used another new word!) | GrayBeard |
Anyhow, because we use MSNTV I can actually sit anywhere in the living room where the Tv is, or lay on the couch (which I usually do) to use the internet.
Way better than having your butt stuck to a seat!!! | GrayBeard |
occasionally my sister will let me use her lap top and then i can lay on the couch and go on the internet...but shes pretty stingy when it comes to letting me use it.
i cant be on the computer and not listen to music. i need background noise. most of the time i wont know whats playing (since i have all my music on itunes, so i put all my songs on shuffle) but yeah, still just need the noise | shadowbug26 |
Yeah, to really cool part is I mostly listen to music tv (I get 4 video channels and 50 audio channels) while I am doing the internet.
Since it is on my tv, if I hear a cool song I just hit a button and I am seeing the video or seeing who the artist and song is on the other channels!!! | GrayBeard |
hmm, see,i couldnt do that. although im not paying attention much to the music, i need it to be MY music. it needs to be something i recognize, or else i'll get bored...
its very hard for me to get into new bands because i dont like listening to music i havnt heard before. haha | shadowbug26 |
Becca, how can that be? You must listen to ZILLIONS of new bands because you know about every band out there!!!
I mean, every time anyone mentions any band you know their music. So they must have been new bands to you at some point. | GrayBeard |
I must admit, that puzzled me too!
| spottyslippers |
um, idk..i guess i just listen to music A LOT. haha | shadowbug26 |
That brings up a good question for both of you: On the average, in any given day, just how much music do you listen to? 1 hour? 3 hours? More?
And when you are listening to music, do you listen to a single artist or band for a while, like their whole cd or a bunch of songs of their's back to back? Or do you listen to a random mix of bands always? | GrayBeard |
More than three, definately. I practically listen to it any time I'm not at college or sleeping (though I'm an insomniac, so I tend to listen to a lot of music at night too!).
What I listen to depends on my mood. Sometimes I'll just listen to a load of CD's from one artist, and sometimes I'll jumble between albums or even individual tracks.
And sometimes I get completely bored of my CD's and put on the radio for a bit more variety.
How about you, then, Randy? | spottyslippers |
| *definitely | spottyslippers |
probably more than 3 hours a day. but it depends of if i have school/work.
with the lovely invention of the ipod, i listen to music when im walking home from school/to work/in the car/whenever.
usually i put all my songs on random since the way i listen to music is either through itunes or my ipod. recently ive just been putting on the horrorpops' new cd though (which is what is on as i type this) and if i want to listen to music in the car, not through headphones, i'll bring a cd. | shadowbug26 |
I listen to music a LOT. Probably 4-5 hours on avg a day. But many days I will listen to it from say 8 pm until I go to bed at like 7 am.
I have 4 music tv channels and like 50 music only stations on my direct tv which I listen to almost non stop.
I am so glad u 2 listen to so much music. I figured u did. Keep doing it!!! You both HAVE TO find a way to continue with music in your careers!!!! | GrayBeard |
ooh!ooh! i have direct tv too!
i dont listen to the music stations for music though. i can never find something that i like... | shadowbug26 |
So u have direct TV to!!! Did u see that they are going to replace their music channels with the complete XM Satelite Radio system!!!!
Yeah, feeds from all over the place!!!
Go look at channel 800 for the complete info.
| GrayBeard |
This conversation is going completely over my head. I've no clue what is going on! | spottyslippers |
Direct TV is the alternative to cable TV in the USA. It comes to you via satellite, and in addition to a zillion TV stations, it also has a lot of music only channels.
Then there is a satellite radio service called XM Satellite Radio that beams a wide variety of radio stations to your car or hand held receiver.
Now ppl who get Direct TV in their homes will also get XM Satellite Radio as well. COOOL! | GrayBeard |
| Thanks. Shame I can't get it! | spottyslippers |
I have windows media player on random for upwards from 7 hours a day. | xzar |
Hey xzar, when u say u have it on "random" does that mean it plays all kinds of songs from all kinds of genres?
Does it tell you what is playing? | GrayBeard |
Well. Yeah. I just use windows media player. I let it shuffle through all my songs. I will skip something if I am not in the mood, and I will *sometimes* choose a specific song or artist, if I really want to hear it. I have an audioscrobbler account thing, if you want to look at that. It keeps track of what is listened to on our computer, seee? http://www.last.fm/user/punchinello/
I can't listen to *only* one genre for too long. The similarities between artists starts to bug me. 'Cept ska. It happens sometimes, hough. I have listened to Nirvana's unplugged in new york a few times, straight, and I can listen to a Talking Heads album, or a Coldplay album over and over. | xzar |
You never really said how you listen to music. You said you listen to it.. however long per day.. but not if you generally focus on one artist or album, or what. | xzar |
I have some crappy eyes so I can't use a regular PC, I use WebTV to do email and things like iSound. THerefore I can't do online music, Mp3 stuff, etc.
I listen to cds. Or I listen to Music TV (MTV, MTV2, VH1, VH1C, & Fuse) or one of the 50 some music channels on Direct TV.
I like to get really immersed in a particular artist or genre. You know, listen to them over and over again. That is why I like doing reviews - I just replay the song or the cd over and over until it like becomes part of my mind.
| GrayBeard |
xzar, so u like Coldplay a lot. Tell me why. I have not gotten into them, but I really haven't listen to them much.
What do u like about them? | GrayBeard |
I just love how coldplay sounds. I like the guy's singing, and I like the tunes, and I like the music. It's calming, is what it is. I don't really like Coldplay much more than other things I like, it's just that their cd's are something I don't get bored of quickly. I like many many many artists better than Coldplay, but I think that "Parachutes" is one of the greatest albums ever made. | xzar |
Damn. I guess maybe I will have to get Parachuets and check it out if you think it's that good.
Sigh, so much music, so little time! | GrayBeard |
I don't actually *own* the CD, myself. Just have it downloaded. In fact, the only CD's that I, personally, and exclusively *own* are a Dead Milkmen CD and a Fiery Furnaces CD, both of which I love. | xzar |
Wow, this "downloading" thing is really great for listening to music for you all. But don't you miss having the lyrics and cd liner notes about the songs and production, etc?
But I will admit, it sure must be a real cost effective way to hear a lot of different music. Buying cds can kill you financially!! | GrayBeard |
