The Hush Sound was offically founded by Greta and Bob in late 2004. The two had met in 2002 and started writing songs together. They soon took on Chris Faller as bassist and Darren Wilson as drummer to add dimension to their fledgling sound.
In early 2005, the band recorded their first album, So Sudden. At the time, they had no label backing. Ryan Ross of Panic! at the Disco heard the album through their purevolume page, and passed it on to Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy. Wentz, impressed with their music, contacted the Hush Sound, hoping to sign them to his label, Decaydance Records. They were quickly signed, and the band's career was born.
The Hush Sound started touring, while also writing and recording the follow-up to So Sudden. Their sophomore album, Like Vines, was released in June 2006. They mostly spent the summer touring and promoting their new record. The Hush Sound is currently on tour with Hellogoodbye and Boys Like Girls.
The Hush Sound is also working on their next album, which they will be recording over the summer. |
