| Just so you know who we are - what follows is a little insight into InPainDie :
In pain die’s original members Jon-drums, Curly-guitars, Jess-keyboards, Matty-vocals formed IPD in Buckley north Wales with a view to making heavy groove laden music.
After several rehearsals but no gigs or recording it became apparent that Jess wasn’t right for the band, this wasn’t to be the only time in pain die would consider keyboards (more of that later!). Heading out as a 3 piece with Matty playing bass this fledgling version of in pain die was to prove one that remained stable for a good long while, releasing a recording and doing several gigs with this line-up, however all was not well with this line-up either!
Jon and Matty were becoming more and more concerned at the lack of commitment shown to the band by Curly, so it was IPD mark 3 was born, however for a while Jon and Matty recorded on there own releasing ‘Subsurface Calm’ and fictional man as a two piece, obviously this was no good for gigging so Joe joined the band and he took over bass duties while Matty went over to guitar and vocals.
This line-up gigged extensively in London, Crewe, Liverpool, Wrexham, Leeds, Manchester and several other places, two recordings were made with this line-up as well, they were ‘the last few pages and ‘replace and discard’.
After several months Matty and Jon were not happy with Joe so they asked him to leave. After much searching for a suitable bass player Ant joined the in pain die ranks, appearing on in pain die’s finest
recording to date ants bass playing style lifted the whole IPD sound to another level, this line-up was by far the most productive and most gigged to date with gigs in London, Liverpool, Manchester, Wrexham, Stockport, Northwich, Wigan and Bolton to name but a few the band carved out a solid reputation for uncompromising metal.
All was not well in camp IPD though. Jon had considered leaving IPD for a while to do some heavier stuff and approached Ant who was basically thinking the same thing, the recording of hope but no belief seemed to be the last straw for Jon and Ant realising that musically and lyrically it was nothing like what they wanted to be involved in they decided to reform ‘in pain die’in there own image.
Wih Rich on guitars and several rhythm guitarist contenders in the offing the new 2005 in pain die line-up promises to be hard hitting ‘groovesome’ mid paced and poundy, the new album due out late 2005 entitled where my allegiance lies promises to be the finest slab of in pain die metal to date!!
So look out for us playing a town/city near you soon!! keep it northern!!!! |
