Incubus: a monster from western medieval folk lore, the name describes the band perfectly, although the name was not planned only did he band have the name fifteen minutes before their first show. On June 4, 1990 the band Incubus was formed at the time consisting of the amazing instrumentalist\\\'s Jose Pasillas the current drummer in the band, Mike Einziger the guitar player, and the bassist Alex Katunich. In their early years they played heavy metal songs from bands like Metallica and Megadeth although drummer Jose didn\\\'t like this type of metal. Playing all local gigs in their local town of Calabasas, California they gained recognition with friends and fans. Later in their career the band dropped bassist Alex Katunich and picked up vocalist Brandon Boyd and new bassist Ben Kenney. After releasing their first full length album titled \\\"Fungus Amongus\\\" while on tour they met Gavin Koppel the DJ for the band who was later replaced by DJ Kilmore. The bands influences were bands like Primus, Mr. Bungle, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers, after years of struggle and anguish the band was recognized when Michael Balzary (Flea from the red hot chili peppers) played the trumpet with incubus in 2004.
So far in the bands success they have released eight different albums and EP’s and their live album from Lollapalooza. After their first album “Fungus Amongus” (1995) the band went on many small tours one more notably with Korn and The Urge in Europe. Their second album “S.C.I.E.N.C.E.” was released in the summer of 1997 and was said to only take six weeks to record. Their third and most famous album “Make Yourself” set them off on more tours and shows showing that they were able to accomplish anything. Still pumping away a new album will be coming hopefully soon and expected from all fans.
