The story of Irony 9...A long time ago in a galaxy far, far, away...(or Bloomingdale, GA). There was band known in the Bloomingdale Alliance Church youth group as "BEAnZ". They consisted of Justin Murray on guitar, and Blake Pierson on drums. We were pretty much just a cover band playing other bands' music and various praise and worship chorus' for the youth group to sing along to. That was pretty fun, but there was always a desire to write our own music and get better at our instruments. Not too long after that Ben Murray joined on bass. From there, BEAnZ became several other bands, Plus-Negative, Slave, and then finally "Irony 9". At that time, Irony 9 was a 4 piece band. We had a lead singer and Justin played guitar and did backing vocals. Ben was still on bass and Blake still on drums. After about 2 or 3 practices, our lead singer decided that the band wasn't exactly something that he was interested in anymore. So the 4 piece band went to a 3 piece and Justin was thrust, unwillingly, into the lead singer position. With that being said and done, we practiced, and we practiced, and we practiced...did I mention that we practiced? Then we had our first concert ever, (besides the youth group), in South Carolina at a camp for about 500 kids. Yeah we were nervous as crap and looked like a bunch of statues on stage, but the kids loved it. Ever since then, we haven't stopped. We’ve played at various youth camps and praise concerts throughout the area, as well as, birthday parties and even placed first, second, and third in several area Battle of the Bands. I guess you could say we've been on a rock ‘n’ roll mission from God to deliver the news of His word to everyone we come in contact with. New Rock for the New Born is our slogan, meaning rock ‘n’ roll for the christian, and non-christian alike. And we will continue doing this until the day God decides otherwise. “New Rock for the New Born.”
