Jacog is a New Orleanean native now residing in Newark NJ. She's a new emerging Holy Hip Hop Christian rap artist ready to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to the streets. Since a very young age Jacog had a love for music. Jacog being a down to earth multi-talented, intelligent and humbled woman of God, just want to touch the souls of many through her music.
Jacog's birth name is Jacenta. She got her artist name from a time in her life when she struggled with the angel of the Lord. During the recording of her secular song, "Hot Gurl" the Spirit of the Lord struck her with a dumb spirit to where she could'nt speak or record. When Jacog surrendered and vowed to speak for God through her music, He blessed her. Jacog have worked with Producers, James Toliver, Dwayne "Silky D" Sullivan, and Andrew "Drew" Craig.
In 2000 she released her first single, "The Ghetti" which aired on Kiss fm in Wisconsin and performed live at Club kiss fm. Jacog tried to record first secular album but never got to finish because she struggled with both worlds. In 2002 again Jacog attempted to record first album but it too never happened because she moved to New York and got married to a long devoted friend. She ended up with a EP, "The Sinner's Prayer" which aired on Milwaukee's Christian radio station Joy1340 am. During that year Jacog ministered and evangelized all throughout the Metropolitan areas of Wisconsin, she also sang back up vocals for Prince Valentino & Royalty.
In 2003 tradgedy struck. Jacog's husband was killed in one of New York's most dangerous correctional institutions. Jacog remembers her husband's words that rings true even till today that she will suceed and she will one day change the world! He'd always say that she will one day receive a grammy and a nobel peace prize. But such a tradgedy as this ignited her fire to survive her lost and continue pursuing her dream. She then decided to start her own record label and vowed to never sign to a major label no matter how much money she's offered. She have seen close friends sign their carreers over to labels that never allowed them to use their own creativity and she vowed to God to glorify Him by using her gift and to never use her anointing as a concentrate to others!
Jacog got saved and baptised at 12. She started singing in the children's choir at 4. Jacog shares her testimony through her music and hopes to establish not only her own publishing company and independent record label but to also establish a world wide youth ministry and open free hospitals in poverty stricken 3rd world countries. Anyone can teach and build a school she says but this world needs a Remedy, a thorough spiritual cleansing.
