Jagged is an explosive new band from Halifax, Nova Scotia. The combination of the distinct vocals of Julie North and the dynamic and inventive guitar playing abilities of her brother Steven and their long time friend Glenn, who are both veterans of the Halifax music scene, create the basis for this energetic band. The bands exciting sound is filled out by their strong rhythm section with the hard-hitting drummer Barry and the experienced and talented bass playing of Jeff. This hard rock band is blasting its way into the Maritime music scene. Jagged prides themselves on energy filled, loud, in your face rock music that will keep you singing throughout the night and long into the hours of the morning!
From Jagged’s demo "Live This Way" has received several plays from Q104’ Route 104 in Halifax, CKDU in Halifax, UPEI’s campus radio, and CFMH 92.5 in Saint John. The song "Live This Way" was added to the East Coast Countdown show, www.eastcoastcountdown.com, which airs across Canada.
Jagged has a music credit in an upcoming movie, incredibly rare for a demo to even be considered. "Live This Way" will be featured in the independent feature film "A Bug and a Bag of Weed". The film will be aired on Showcase and IFC.
Jagged is currently recording their debut 6-song EP for a future release of Spring 2007. As well, a video will be shot to support the first single. The band has had interest from industry professionals within the Canadian music scene who are awaiting the completion of the CD.
Jagged is starting to build a strong buzz around the Maritimes, with it’s intense live shows, the marketability of the band, and with the anticipation of their debut EP release Jagged will be a force to be dealt with in the Maritimes, the music industry and the rest of the world.
