Mission Statement
Our mission is to use the music and lyrics the LORD gives us and combine it with our daily struggles we go through and hope it hits home to other people who relate to the ups and downs of being a funky christian in this crazy world. We are not afraid to say it's hard sometimes - and yes we fall sometimes - and yes we did and do some stupid things sometimes, but thanks to GODS grace and holding on to HIM, HE gives us a chance we don't deserve - but it's a chance WE MUST SHARE!! JAM160D Rock and soul from former CHURCH OF RHYTHM bassist JEROME CUNNINGHAM teams up with BILL DOHERTY(guitar)worked with JOURNEY before PERRYS entrance. THE BOOMER(drums)one of CHICAGOS top session men and Trick Drums endorser. ERIC MCLEAR(keys)engineered the 8 song CD in his home studio entitled FUNKY CHRISTIANS. NEW cd 'BAND OF MISFITS' being mixed and the first single 'MUD IN MY EYES' will be on site soon. New band members include Louis Hornbeak on drums.

The Lyrics are up to date and honest about everyday junk we all go through. "The words talk to me too, I feel I'm part of the song and I'm just thankful to be used by GOD in my daily struggle in the world" quotes JEROME.
This CD has elements of classic rock leads, funk-rock, rap, ska and techno. It all depends on the mood of the message being poured out. It's a cool feeling when the spirit hits, we just hang on for the ride and give GOD the glory. It's cool to be Funky AND a Christian!
Singer,songwriter and bassist, Jerome Cunningham played the Chicago alternative club scene along with the PUMPKINS. His band COLOUR HUEMANITY had auditions for STAR SEARCH and had local air play. He later toured with the DOVE NOMINATED group CHURCH OF RHYTHM supporting the record NOT PERFECT. JEROME recieved a songwriters award from BILLBOARD MAGAZINE for the song IF JESUS WAS YOUR NEIGHBOR on the JAM160D cd. BILL DOHERTY(GUITAR)THE BOOMER(DRUMS) ERIC MCLEAR (KEYS) make up the group. JEROME'S bass can be heard on a song from the INPOP group SUPER CHIC[K] which was played on MTVS REAL WORLD in Nov. JAM160D has alot more material that will cover the moods from rock to funk and pop. The lyrics are the main thing and the music projects the feeling of that mood. We thank GOD for his gifts and grace.
