| Jerry Adams is the quintessential country artist. Forged from the world of honky tonks and endless, smokey nights, Adams ' has lived his way to the footlights. An impoverished childhood was brightened by his fathers gift of music. At the age of 3, Jerry picked up the guitar for the first time. It was a love affair in the making.
An opportunity to perform at the Union Plaza Hotel in Las Vegas at the age of 16 was the beginning of the realization of all his hopes and dreams... his first "paying gig". After catching the eye of record producer Jerry Marcellino, Jerry was signed to Voyage records in 1995 which resulted in his first released Cd and chart single (Outlaw Love)which he also co-produced.
Adams will tell you from experience that sadness and heartache and poverty are all roads that lead to the hillbilly highway and he has traveled every one. Stops have been made at the corners of drunk and disorderly and a few dead ends encountered on Love Street, but for the first time in his life he is "at peace" with himself.
His newest and long awaited self titled cd is being released on Ethics records and is proof-positive that life is good and getting better. You can hear his heart in songs like "Haggard State of Mind", "Part of the Dream", Would These Arms Be in Your Way". Feel the country soul in songs like "Play Me Some Dirt" and "Ramblin' Man". For Adams the music has to be true and it has to be honest, even if sometimes it hurts, because country music is his life. |
