All of the members of Jetpack: Missing have played in different bands over the years, but within the same circle of friends. After the main bands started to fade out, Scott and Aaron got involved in many different side projects. These side projects started to filter down to a unique sound. Scott’s hard rock style and Aarons R&B/funk style ended up shaping the sound of the band Eighty-Dee. This band also filtered through members, which is when Greg and Mark joined up. Mark added a more aggressive solid approach to the beats, and Greg brought his alternative rock, technical guitar sound. Shortly after Greg and Mark joined the band They found themselves without a singer. This is where Sarah comes in. She had never been in a band before, but Scott recalled listening to her singing softly to herself. So, after a random phone call to see what she thought her voice would sound like over our music… It began.
The Jetpack: Missing sound is familiar, yet unique. The guitars have the rock sound you love, but the female vocals soften the edge with catchy melodies. The drums hit hard, but underneath is a funky, bluesy bass line. The vast difference in influence is heard in the music, without ever sounding out of place. These influences range from Chevelle to Jason Mraz, Breaking Benjamin to The Red Hot Chili Peppers, 311 to Coldplay, Damien Rice to the Toadies. We’re just making music and having fun doing it.
