| JNEIRO JERELL is famous to a few: While his debut recoding (Three Piece Puzzle) was released in Europe to critical acclaim and underground fame, Jneiro slowly started to wash ashore in the US thanx to a growing number of international djs (gilles perterson, garth trinidad, jazzanova, dj cam, dj krush) that spread his boom-bap brand of hip-hop near and far.
Meanwhile, back in Jniero’s hometown of Philly (by way of Houston, by way of Brooklyn) the lords of the underground (namely King Britt and Rich Medina) adopted Jnieiro, bringing him into the mix of production, performance and personality. King and Rich simultaneously handed a demo of 3PP to ropeadope leader Andy Blackman Hurwitz whereupon he was signed on the spot.
So now, while the story is thick, and you can check some highlights on the flip, just know this: Three piece puzzle was recorded in the tail end of 2003 entirely by the one man band that is Jneiro Jerrell (with special guests including: Dr. Who Dat? Rocque Wun, Jawaad (ppp) and Ms. Vinia Mojica (yes THAT Vinia Mojica). It will be available in the US this fall with new tracks, a remix and fresh art work and packaging. |
