Satch Vs. Vai
whos the best? i think satriani. he is not as technically gifted as VAI but his music is listenable. in some of vai's tracks you can feel a really good groove... e.g. for the love of god. satch you can list song after song and the tune just keeps coming to your head... best example would be rubina! i think anyway... anyone else?

yea, i would consider satch better just
because he was Vai's teacher. but sumtimes
the student surpasses the teacher. Theyre
both amazing, but i would say Satch, his
riffs do always get stuck in my head.

Why do people bring up this ridicuous
questions? Being a guitarist myself, made me
realize that you can't ask who is the
best. Every great guitarist brings something
unique that makes him stand out from the
crowd. Satch does have a straight forward
sense of melody while Vai's creativity is
unmatched by an mortal. No answer to this
question as it cannot truly be answered. G3

Speaking of other guitar players have you
seen JerryC on UTUBE that guy is amazing. He
plays a battered old guitar in his bedroom
and is amazing! Plays a good version of
pacabel canon too! He rocks.. you can
download his tracks from his site... Google

I could never answer that one. I Love satch
cause he is a funky artist and his stuff is
really kickin! but i love Vai LOADS hes done
so much influential music and pushed the
bouondaries of sound. so they both get my
vote.

obviously Satch is the master, he taught Vai.
so its clear to me without Satch, where would
Vai be?
i really love Vai's 'for the love of
god' but compared to the master, it doesnt
touch. Satch keeps knocking out the most
beautiful instrumentals. Like 'satch
boogie' and 'surfing with the alien'
my fave has gotta be 'i believ' it
