Since age five I have studied classical piano performance. Classical technique was a valuable tool in developing my musicianship, but I felt limited performing the traditional music of the classics and began songwriting about seven years later. Writing my own music was a means of communication and self-liberation. In high school, I began studying classical voice. I embarked for Furman University of South Carolina in 2006 with the intention of majoring in piano performance, but again found the traditional musical repertoire and the strict academic requirements stifling to my creativity. I quickly made the decision to transfer out of there at the end of the year, and am currently studying music creation and psychology at Hampshire College, a small, progressive school in Amherst, MA. All of the music you hear is completely self-produced; written, performed, and recorded by me. I have a demo cd titled "Raincloud" that is currently available on cdbaby.com. "To see the potential in what it may seem a raw and undeveloped talent is necessary. Kala Farnham composes a music based in piano playing and has a very emotional voice. Her music is deeply felt and is sung sincerely. Honestly Im waiting for her new songs. A promising talent that if its constant has wonderful songs in her." - from KIAC radio
"A promising artist . Shes an artist and I wish that in every new song she'll develop her talent even more." - The Talent Searcher, KIAC Radio |
