Kalan Porter is a 19 year old student at the Medicine Hat College. Kalan grew up working on his family's cattle/buffalo ranch. Kalan also grew up with his 2 younger sisters Kelsey 16 and MacKenzie 13. As told by his mother, Kalan was able to hum parts of Brahm\'s Lullaby at 18 months.
One day while Kalan was snowboarding he fell and broke both his wrists.
At age 16 Kalan played in his family's rock band SWASS. In the band Kalan sang, played guitar, bass and piano.
After winning Canadian Idol Kalan had the pleasure of working with Randy Bachman on his debut cd.
Kalan wrote 1 of the songs on his cd called "After all".
Kalan is curently on tour with Amanda Stott. Hopefully soon Kalan and SWASS will have a cd come out. |
