In October 2002, West’s life nearly ended when he was involved in a near-fatal automobile accident. The artist was leaving a Los Angeles recording session and heading to his hotel when the accident occurred. West, who suffered a fractured jaw in three places, shocked everyone when only months after the crash he went back to recording (his mouth was still literally wired shut). It was at this time when he recorded, “Through the Wire.”
In 2003, West produced Jay-Z’s “03 Bonnie and Clyde.” In January 2004, West’s single, “Through the Wire,” is on the Billboard top 50. His debut album, The College Dropout, is expected to debut in February 2004. West has also helped on Ludacris’s “Stand up,” Scarface’s “In Cold Blood,” and Talib Kweli’s “Get By.

person's fault. It mostly depends on where
they live and their parents financial
standings. Afterthat, yes, it's the
person's fault. I'm sayin' that the
person doesn't have to go the gangsta life
and go shootin' shit up or selling drugs
like many rappers admit to. Also, a lot of
rappers admit to being thieves. Oh well.
Somewhat the rapper's fault, somewhat his
environment and peer pressure. Say some
aspiring rapper lives in New York (I'm
from Queens, by the way. Nah, I'm not
livin' there right now) and his parents
can't give him shit. Anything he buys is
from money he makes from rap battles or
underground CDs. He stays out of the gangsta
life and also works at some restaurant or
grocery store, yet he has two younger
siblings to support with his parents. Is it
still his fault that his family needs
welfare to survive? Now say instead of having
that job, he decides to sell drugs because it
gets more money than a job. His income
doesn't affect his family's welfare
status anyway. "Hey, if it's good
for my siblings, why not give it a
shot?" He thinks. Get what I'm
saying? Sure, it's still a bad idea, but
sometimes people do bad things for a very
noble reason. Now, I despise the sale of
drugs just as much as anyone else, but I'm
just saying this: Maybe it was one of few
options left for someone's family. I knew
some people that sold drugs to help the fam
and once the fam recovered, they got out of
that shit. A lot of rappers say "I
used to sell [insert drug here] to
survive." Used to. Not anymore.

Besides, once again, I'm going to refer to
Eminem. He was poor as a mother fucker. He
wasn't caught up in that shit, he just had
a rocky life. He did grow up in a pretty
"ghetto" place, though. If you
saw the movie, you know. That shit was based
on his life...loosely. I find that most rock
fans that dislike almost all rap enjoy
Eminem's work because he's not all
about that gangsta shit.
Back to the point: respect man. Respect what
other people had to do to survive and what
artist's do to put out an album. Respect
people's musical choices and tastes and we
wouldn't have any of this bullshit, now
would we. Hell, if some of you weren't so
narrow-minded, you'd probably have more
music to listen to. Admit it, a lot of rap
lately sounds just like the song the
radioplayed prior to it.
By the way, I enjoy both rock and rap quite a
lot. You can probably tell from the
“Favorite bands” list in my profile.

agreeing the the 2pac fan about those
racist/stereotyping tendencies. Not all asian

Nebraska and he's about 14, if you were

Apparently, he knows a lot about ass
sucking... | J2DK | AC/DC is a metal band from the Beavis and
Butthead days. You know...when MTV played
music videos and not uh...shitty sitcoms and
reality shows. At the time, MTV mostly showed
rock videos. I have to give Acdc rocks a
little credit: his 3 favorite bands are from
this era, and that's some of the best rock
