Kanye West grew up in Chicago. He got into the music industry when he began producing rap artist, Mase’s album entitled Harlem World. He soon, however, caught the attention of Jay-Z. In 2000, West contributed to Jay-Z’s album entitled Dynsaty: Roc La Familia. Most notably, he helped out on the track, “This Can’t Be Life.” He continued his work with Jay-Z on Jay-Z’s album, Blueprint. West can be heard on the tracks “Izzo (H.O.V.A.)” and “Takeover.”
In October 2002, West’s life nearly ended when he was involved in a near-fatal automobile accident. The artist was leaving a Los Angeles recording session and heading to his hotel when the accident occurred. West, who suffered a fractured jaw in three places, shocked everyone when only months after the crash he went back to recording (his mouth was still literally wired shut). It was at this time when he recorded, “Through the Wire.”
In 2003, West produced Jay-Z’s “03 Bonnie and Clyde.” In January 2004, West’s single, “Through the Wire,” is on the Billboard top 50. His debut album, The College Dropout, is expected to debut in February 2004. West has also helped on Ludacris’s “Stand up,” Scarface’s “In Cold Blood,” and Talib Kweli’s “Get By.

fill u in on a few facts: The ppl who did
not evacuate New Orleans stayed because they
had no means to evacuate. New Orleans has
(had) the hightest rate of non-auto
population of ANY city in the USA.
It is impossible to evacuate a city on
foot!!! What did you want these ppl to do,
rent a car to drive out of the city?
Secondly, the ppl left behind did not have to
financial means to evacuate. New Orleans has
one of the highest poverty rates in the
country. These ppl did not have the money to
go live someplace else.
So how about you get your facts right next
time before you start spouting your redneck
racist hate words.
Oh yeah, one final note. I was NOT a Kanye
West fan until I saw that he had the guts to
stand up and say the truth - Bush did not
respond with help sooner because it was NOT a
bunch of RICH, WHITE people in harms way.
Regardless of what you may think, the facts
are that ALL of Bush's policies have only
hurt the poor, the old, the needy, the
minorities, and basically anyone who is not
one of his rich, white friends!!!
