Karma Has Kelly, an indie rock band from Amherst, Ohio, formed in August 2004 under the original members of Eddie Grant (Vocals), Ricky Esser (Rhythm Guitar/Vocals), Andrew Constantino (Lead Guitar), and Chris Olexa (Drums). The band went through various bass players until finally Nick Sajka was given the job as bassist in June of 2005.
After writing eight solid songs, the band finally felt it was ready to take their new talent to the stage at a local venue in Lorain, Ohio called the Red Parrot Cafe. After performing a solid set, the owner of the venue asked the band to come back the following week and open for Aphasia -- a band who wrote the soundtrack to the movie War of the Worlds -- and Shortie, both nationally touring acts from California.
On September 4, 2005, the band released it's demo album, Burn Marks From Broken Hearts to the public. The album consists of the wonderful music of Light of Day, I Hope You Cry, So Goodbye, and 58 Took My Life. On October 2, 2005, "58 Took My Life" hit air waves on Pennsylvania Xposure Net Radio only to make 7th on the Pennsylvania Top 10 on October 7, 2005. "58 Took My Life" reached 6th on the Pennsylvania Top 10 on October 28, 2005. The song spent seven consecutive weeks in the Top 10. "Light of Day" has also hit radio waves by being featured on WMMS 100.7 FM -- Cleveland, Ohio.
