Kasey Malm is a singer/songwriter from Boise, Idaho who describes her music as "daydream music." Her current songwriting draws on influences from fellow female artists Sarah McLachlan, Jewel and Enya, as well as the folk and Celtic genres. With the establishment of her desired sound, she continues to be influenced by different musical traditions around the world and incorporates what she can to create a mystical, earthy resonance. Her lyrics however are mainly folk and pop driven, honestly and fluidly expressing emotions and stories that are relative to the human experience.
She has been singing as long as she can remember, and after learning to play piano in 1994, she self-taught herself guitar in 2001. She wrote her first song, entitled "Crazy Moon," when she was just 12 years old and has also briefly experimented writing in many genres, including one country song called "Cowboy." Additionally, she enjoys listening to all types of World music and has experimented in writing Celtic symphonies.
When not writing and playing music, she enjoys hiking, sports (especially soccer and college football), camping, traveling, creating art, and playing with her blue-eyed Australian Shepherd, Jordi. Kasey is also currently pursuing a bachelor degree in Anthropology from Boise State University. |
