Nashville Recording Artist Kenny Brannan was born in Rising Star, Texas on April 27th, but who could have known that the boy from Rising Star would later become a RISING STAR!! Kenny now resides in Seneca, Mo.; Kenny is an awesome Country Singer, Songwriter and Lead Guitarist. He has a dynamic and energetic sound driving home both Traditional and New Country Music with attitude! He is received at each and every performance with a warm and powerful reception. Young and old alike just absolutely love Kenny's style of Country Music!!! Kenny Brannan will definitely catch your attention all the way from his up-beat style Traditional Country to his Slow Heartfelt Ballads. Kenny's music is an extension of his heart and soul. Playing his music very well expressing his emotions in a way that makes others feel what he is relaying in his music as if it were the audiences feelings. Kenny's music will leave you captivated with each and every performance and leave you speechless when he stops. We are very excited about Kenny's future in the Music Industry and introducing this very talented young man to the world. Kenny's guitar skills are nothing short of amazing. The channel running from his heart to his fingers is wide open for the world to hear. Others and we have noticed an almost haunting sound when he plays guitar to the ballads he sings and also wonder if he has an extra set of hands on the strings of his guitar with the many beautiful notes he brings out when he plays. We realize that anyone who loves fine country guitar work owes it to themselves to go hear Kenny play! Kenny's vocals are truly a mirror to his soul. His vocal styling is truly unique. It's been said his voice is haunting, totally different from anyone else and once you hear his voice you don't forget it, It sticks with you!! Musicians who have toured for over twenty-five years or more and have played with some of the great legends in this business can safely say that Kenny Brannan is one of the finest Country Artist that they have ever known. We also feel that Kenny's writing is not just more of the same. Today's country music for the most part so closely resembles the soft rock love songs of the '70's with steel guitar
and fiddle added. Kenny Brannan's songs are truly country music and are a credit to the Traditions started by the great ones who are sadly leaving us now! You can look for great things from this young man in the near future!!!!!
My band has been called Southern Drive for about five or six years. My wife Jeanette and I got it from a street sign but it kind of explains my music. Put some Southern Drive in your country. Kenny does play here locally some when he has time, and he's traveled over the U.S. He Love it! All the gigs are pretty specials in one way or the other. Most importantly are the fans he makes along the way.
Kenny has finished his album and it has been sent to well over 2,000 radio stations. We believe he has several hits and has gotten a lot of good response. Kenny has been working toward getting a major label, etc. it has been his life long dream. His wife Jeanette has been working along side Kenny for the past ten years and has been doing everything in her power to see that his dream becomes a realility. She has been behind Kenny all the way on his music career. She has made his websites, designed his albums etc.
Kenny has been singing since he was around four years old and started playing guitar when he was six. He's played the club scene until 1995 when I met my wife, Then things got serious and He started playing professionally ever since. He still does the clubs from time to time. Kenny Brannan has been singing since he was around four years old and has been playing lead guitar professionally since the age of 17.
Kenny just recorded his latest singles "I'm In A Tropical Depression", and "Sometime Later" Which he wrote hisself, both are beautifully done, These two along with "You Finally Said Something Good (when you said goodby)" written by Strasser and Winters, has had chart recognition in the past are being sent to radio overseas and here in the states. Also a dynamite version of a classic hit called "A - Eleven," written by Hank Cochran, also "Hole In The Wall" written by Kenny Brannan. It's an awesome ballad that will make you think, Kenny has really put a lot of real emotion into this one and it will really touch your heart. These songs are awesome and are already getting great reviews. All songs have been sent to Music row charting radio stations and R&R reporting stations. Kenny Brannan produced his album with help from Nelson Larkin from Nashville who has produced 20 #1 hits and also produced for Toby Keith. Also on Kenny's album is "I Ain't Done Yet", written by Kenny also, is as Honky Tonk as you can get he also adds some humor to it. A really great song! "Dirty Job" was written by one of Kenny's songwriters, Jeff Moxcey and Max McGee, It's a dirty job but someone has to do it, who can't relate to this one, and it's also a patriotic song. Kenny's song "You're Already Gone" written by Kenny and his wife Jeanette, has been around for quite awhile and has gotten great reviews from overseas as well as here in the states and also on the internet it also made number 60 on the Top Artist Charts in Norway. All of these songs are awesome! Kenny recorded two songs "You're Already Gone" and "Time Stands Still in Here", with Southern Drive that has also received quite abit of airplay even though that recording, though great, was done in the drummers living room in Wentworth, Missouri. Kenny has also recorded some of his original songs in Nashville as well as other places.
Kenny has also won some awards such as Silver Heart Award, Instrumentalist of the year and Silver Heart Award, band of the year. Kenny won the Miller lite Rising Star challenge in 2000.
Kenny has also received quite a bit of airplay overseas and here in the states.
So many have influenced Kenny's music Merele Haggard - Charlie Daniel - Travis Tritt - Ricky Skaggs and Jerry Reed. But Kenny's first guitar influence was Michael Kelley from Cross Plains, Texas. He really got him on fire to play the guitar at the age of six. Kenny first started singing in Church. Kenny's Dad, Dean Brannan was his first singing influence. A lot of people don’t know this but, Kenny's Daddy, was an accomplished singer, pianist and an evangelist most all his life. He taught Kenny a lot of his vocal traits and everything he basically needed to get started with his vocals and harmonies. Basically how to sing and breathe and to stay on pitch. He even taught Kenny the first three or four chords on his first flat top guitar. The rest he learned on his own (guitar & vocals). He never had any real lessons. Equipment used: Fender Telecaster Guitar, Mic, Fender AMP, Boss Digital Delay Pedal, Compression Sustainer pedal, Acoustic Simulator pedal, pics, cords
Favorite Get away: That would have to be Shoal Creek, which is near my hometown. It has a small park and is very private and not just anyone can go there. Which made it a perfect place to get away, to fish, write songs or just clear my mind. My wife and I and our little dog Shiloh just love spending time there.
Favorite Movie or TV Show: My favorite movie is Twister (with Helen Hunt). But I have many others that I really enjoy also. But I’d have to say Twister is my all time favorite. I’ve probably seen it at least 30 times. On our off times we even love to storm watch, chase storms etc.
If you had to pick a couple of songs you have written or recorded that you are most proud of, what would they be and why?
KB: I think I’d have to say “Hole in the Wall”, It tells a story about what’s going on with a lot of couples these days. It’s all work and not enough one on one. That could tear a family up quicker than anything I can think of. I believe it sends out a message about spending more time with their love ones. Then I’d have to say “I Ain’t Done Yet” would be another one I’m proud of. For one thing, before I met my lovely wife that actually happened to me, but we’ll not get into that. I believe it’s a great Honky-Tonk song. Something you can party to and I’m sure a lot of people can relate to it. Where would you like to be in five years?
KB: Receiving my 2nd gold album! Doing worldwide tours, and also being a guest star on the Grand Ole Opry! And finally getting some bills paid. What’s your fondest career memory so far?
KB: The day I received my awards from the C.G.M.A. That’s when I made my wife cry but not in a bad way. My whole family showed up for the show and was in tears. They were so proud. I swallowed my gum as I accepted the award, I had no ideal, it was such a shock to me. I never saw it coming. I was there to be the house band and to help others receive their awards. When I heard I had been nominated for four or five awards. I can’t remember now but I was truly stunned.
If you could do a duet with anyone who would that be and why?
KB: Loretta Lynn, She’s been a legend for years and I admire her so much. And her vocals are still outstanding. She’s a great lady and the Queen of Country Music. I can’t wait to meet her. If not for music, what would you be doing as a career? KB: If it wasn’t for music I’d be storm chasing, of course. What CD would be found in your CD player right now?
KB: My latest release because I’m constantly looking for flaws. There always room for improvements. I like to be a perfectionist on my music and I’m my worst credit.
What can we expect in the future from you?
KB: A lot of great shows. Good drivin’ Country Music and a lot of fun making music. Also more studio work I have four more songs I need to do to complete my latest album. As soon as things start going our way we expect our booking agent in Nashville to set us up a tour. Hopefully a tour in the U.S. But we’re doing really well overseas so I’m not sure, it could be oversea.
Where does your wife stand in all this?
KB: Well first of all short from the good Lord, She’s my rock. and my inspiration. She’s been behind me 120% from the get go. And the best supportive person I can think of to have on my team. She keeps me going, if not for her I don’t know what I would’ve done. If you look real hard you’ll see a permanent size six imprint of her shoe on my wranglers. She just keeps me going, if it wasn’t for her I would have given up a long time ago. She has also done all my promotional, designing etc. You know I could probably go on and on about the love she’s given me and the things she’s done for me, but I believe you get the picture. If you had a chance to do any charitable work what would it be and why?
KB: Feed America’s hungry children - Yeah there’s hungry children and adults all over the world but we have hungry families, children even without families right here in our own backyard here in the U.S. that we really need to take care of. Hopefully someday I’ll hook up with Ricky Skaggs. I believe he has a charitable organization like that.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank for helping you with your career who would it be?
KB: First and foremost the good Lord for giving me my talent and my wife who believes in me and supports me all the way. And last but certainly not least my manager Gene Strasser for believing in me as well and for all his support.

Kenny was interviewed Sept 1, 2004 at KITO 96.1fm Radio in Vinita, Ok. Kenny was interviewed by Lynn Thomas over the phone on KMCO Radio!!! McAlester, Oklahoma Oct.20, 2004.
Kenny's wife Jeanette entered Kenny in a drawing for a free song release with Western Heart Promotions the first part of March 2004. And Kenny was one of the three winners. His song "You're Already Gone" will be put on their compilation and sent to Radio Stations in the USA and Overseas! Johnnie Moore and Jeannie C. Riley welcomed us with Love and opened arms at a benefit in Nashville, TN. They just loved Kenny's vocals when he got on stage to sing! The Jordanaires, Elvis Presley's back-up vocalist, did the back-up harmonies on Kenny's single "Thank God for Her." Kenny recorded this single in Nashville in 2000. And had a great time with the project. They Jordanaires were also some great guys. These guys have some awesome backup harmonies ! It was so awesome having the Jordanaires there and them working on one of Kenny's original. Even Charlie McCoy was in on the session playing Harp and Fiddle on Kenny's single "Thank God for Her."
