kenny rogers was born on the 21st of august 1938 in huston texas.
though from a poor background he managed toget tru high school,and was in the university of texas before he droped out to play bass.
he joined a group know as the ne christy ministries in 1966,he stayed for a yr,then moved to form a band,kenny and the first edition which he left in 1974 to sign on to united artist in 1975.
kenny had his first break tru hit in 1977 with lucille climbing to no 1.
in 1983 he left united artist for RCA,where he steyed for 5 yrs.
kenny's most recent work is a christmas carol which was realesed in 2002
