Sunday, June 8th, 2008 New Kirby Swatosh Band song Check out the latest recording from mega record label - Swat's Candy Kitchen's biggest, (well tallest) music sensation, the Kirby Swatosh Band.
I recorded basic tracks (guitars, vox, bass, & drums) last week, and added more guitars last night getting to bed around 5 AM this morning.
Spent all day in the studio today shaving off the rough edges.
I will probably tinker with the mix some more, but I couldn't wait to share my latest baby with the rest of the world!
Hope you enjoy.
Me sleep now.

THE KIRBY SWATOSH BAND is a POWERPOPROCK ensemble that is an enigma wrapped in a puzzle which is in turn wrapped in cellophane with holes poked into it so they can breathe, disguised as a band….
But that is an oversimplification.
Singing songs about building backyard spaceships, and living in yellow submarines,
The Kirby Swatosh Band tackles (O.K. touch tags) such timeless issues as Love, Loss, Lost in Space, and Coffee.
Influenced by such artists as The Beatles, dada, Collective Soul, Guster, James Taylor, and Hendrix, comparisons to
The Beatles, dada, Collective Soul, Guster, James Taylor, and Hendrix are inevitable.
With three released albums of original material to date, The Kirby Swatosh Band has also written many, many, songs made famous by The Beatles, Tom Petty, The Monkees, and Van Morrison.
True, those artists did write and record them first, if you take the whole quaint and old fashioned “LINEAR TIME “ approach…. but that is only because they are older.
THE BAND:
Kirby Swatosh - Writer of words and singer of songs. Vocals, and rhythm guitar (Band namesake).
Brian Goughnour- Multi- talented lead guitarist /singer who channels Tom Petty, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Rush, ……sometimes simultaneously.
Todd Eagle - Gifted lead guitarist/singer(gets all the gifts) with his “STAR WARS “guitar playing.
Best Stage name (formerly Todd Eagle Mellencamp), President of DELISTRATYDESIGN.
Eric Wikoff - Drums
Eric Wiseman - Bass/singer
Eric & Eric are Twins, brothers in every sense of the word, except one. Separated at birth from different mothers in different years these two lock in the rhythm section so tightly, so seamlessly, that even during rehearsals, if one dose not show up, so doesn’t the other one.
PAST PERFORMANCE VENUES:
The McMennamins Kingdom:
Boones Treasury, Rock Creek Tavern, Forest Grove, and Hotel Oregon(Featured performer there at The Annual UFO FEST since 2003).
Berbati’s Pan - Portland, Oregon (opened for national touring act, dada)
The Bite of Oregon - Portland, Oregon
Prairie Bar & Grill - Brush Prairie, Washington

I threw in a few extras for the people that were there that we don't know yet.
Man we had a great time!
At the end, You guys were louder than we were, and not an easy task with Eric behind the drums.
My favorite song of the night was "Shoud have known better" by The Beatles.
Anyone out there have a favorite?
Pick one my originals and get a free down load of that song!
I want to make available to everyone who came out last night, a down load of one of newest songs.
As soon as I work out the technical details on how to do that I will let you know.
What a staff at the Prairie Huh?
Jeremy & Ty Taking care of all of us with speed and grace.
We hope to turn our next visit at The Prairie Bar & Grill into a Weekend gig, and really over run the joint with Costco folks and friends!
I must say though, that it doesn't get any better than last night, it can only get bigger.
I will post photos soon
Thanks for listening!

| Sunday, February 17th, 2008 HOUSE CONCERT
The Kirby Swatosh Band had their first House Concert tonight.
A pretty good crowd with about 30 friends and a dozen kids in the mix.
It was the whole band tonight except for our drummer Eric.
A really fun night with a cozy atmosphere, and the very best part of the night?
I didn’t have to tear any equipment down!
That is the only downside to gigs.
Taking all the gear down and packing it up.
The adrenaline of the night’s performance is gone and everything seems a lot heavier!
I look forward to doing this again perhaps every couple months.
Sleepy now. Bu bye.

Already half way through February of 08 and I am hardly tired yet.
