Born as Jonah Sorrentino, KJ-52 was born in a rough neighbourhood in Tampa, Florida. He later became involved with drugs and drinking, and his life was turning the wrong way. But when he was 15, he met Jesus Christ and Jesus changed his life forever.
When he was still a young teenager, he was involved in youth ministry, and he made recorded a demo track. Soon, he met Golden Child, who was a rapper who had a similar dream of his, to be a Christian Rapper. In the summmer of 1998, he went to pursue his dream of being a Christian Rapper, and in April 2000, he released the album 7th Avenue underneath the label of Essential. On 7th Avenue, artists Cross Movement and Knowadverbs are featured.
Then in 2002, KJ-52 released his second album Collabrations. The album featured the song, Dear Slim, which created a lot of controversy. The song was an letter addressed to Eminem, and the song was later played on a MTV show. The album featured III Harmonics, Pillar and Thousand Foot Krutch. In 2003, he released the album, \\\'It\\\'s Pronounced Five-Two\\\', which included another song aimed towards Eminem called Dear Slim Pt. 2. KJ-52 says the songs aren\\\'t a diss towards Eminem, but Eminem fans strongly dislike it.
The next year, KJ-52 recorded another album with TC and the album was called Soul Purpose. Immediately following the Soul Purpose album, was the album, Behind the Musik. The album features Donnie Lewis, Thousand Foot Krutch and Trevor McNevan. |
