Krista, born in Austin, Texas ,USA, started singing at the age of 3, where she stomped her feet and belted out Gospel songs in Church! She already knew what she wanted to do in life….SING. She entered her first Talent competition at 8 years old, and won! The first prize was airplay on National Radio.
Keen to finish school and dedicate herself to “the Stage” she finally graduated from Acting School in London, UK. She had been educated in the UK, France, Switzerland and the USA. Having grown up in many different countries, Krista likes to think of herself as a citizen of the world.
Her professional beginnings began as both a Singer, performing Jazz, and also as an Actress, on London stages.
Her early musical influences were of course, Blues, Gospel and Jazz, but over the years she has performed Soul, R&B, Funk, Acid Jazz, Disco, Dance, Pop, Rock and Latin!
She has sung in French(in which she is fluent) Spanish, Italian, Greek, Hebrew and Chinese!
Krista has become an International Singer of exquisite professionalism and has recorded and shared the stage with many exquisite musicians throughout the world.
Her versatility and thirst for expansion knows no bounds. But whatever Krista sings, it is with Passion, Soul, and Sensitivity.
Krista’s voice has been compared with the voices of Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, Whitney Houston, depending what style she is singing, and although this is very flattering, she merely feels she sounds like …Krista! Her voice is her own.
Krista has kept the flavour of Jazz on her origional CD, but added her unique contemporary sound. It has been well received on the radio and in clubs throughout Europe and USA and chosen as a “recommended listen” on US musical websites.
It is hard for her to remain in one particular style of music as her influences are so vast.
She has written songs in the styles of Jazz, Blues, Contemporay,House, Lounge,Pop and more, however on this Cd she wanted to remain in the cool jazz/neo soul vibe.
Krista recently re-recorded one of her tracks in Dinemac Studios, the new largest studio in Europe, where Phil Collins is patron and has the live Phil Collins Studio.
One of her songs won a place on Swiss Radio Station "Rouge FM" and is currently being played, so those of you with access, keep your ears peeled.
Krista has just finished recording a new albulm "Soulful Journey" which consists of country/blues and Soul remakes, along with 2 of her own compositions, recorded at Grove Attitude Studio in Switzerland.They hope to release the albumn soon but are shopping at the moment.
In the meantime she is currently performing as the lead singer in a musical show traditionally known as La Revue,at "Theatre Barnabe", Servion,Switzerland.The show will run from November 2007 until March 2008.
