| KRS-One was born Lawrence Krisna Parker, and commonly known as Kris Parker as well. Throughout his career KRS-One has adopted several nicknames including most notably \\\"The Blastmaster\\\" & \\\"The Teacher.\\\" When Kris was young he used to spray graffiti in his hometown, South Bronx. This was where he derived his most commonly used name, KRIS-One, which later developed into KRS-One. Later KRS-One met Scott LaRock and formed the duo BDP, AKA Boogie Down Productions. In 1987 they released their debut album “Criminal Minded,” which is now widely regarded as hip hop classic. Although, unfortunately shortly thereafter Scott LaRock was murdered when he tried to intervene in an altercation. Kris decided he would carry the name Boogie Down Productions with him. Scott the former producer now gone, KRS\\\'s brother, Kenny Parker DJ; began lending hand in producing. In 1993 KRS-One released his first solo album, “Return of The Boom Bap.” He has continued to release albums to date; he has had over a dozen albums throughout his career. KRS-One regarded as a hip hop veteran and has a reputation for being an amazing lyricist. |
