| Kyle is the best at blending everything they like about music into one cohesive sound. On their debut album, you can hear elements of math rock everywhere. All of those jumpy sounds stripped from old video games combined with rocking drums beats that span every musical genre. Kyle shines with catchy melodies married to dialectually indifferent songwriting.
Kyle is a three-piece band consisting of Mark Hand (lead vocals, guitar), Scott Hand (bass and backing vocals), and Brad Mason (drums and percussion). Their music is a random mixture of punk-rock fused with math-rock. Their songwriting starts at a music theory level and evolves - trying to encompass many different styles, feels, tempos, time signatures, chord changes, and timbres. The way Kyle shines is by taking all of these complicated, serious musical aspects and turning them into fun songs chock full of catchy hooks and musical ideas.
Their debut album Interrobang, is named after the symbol that incorporates a question mark and an exclamation point. This is exactly how their music is perceived. It's boiling over with energy and intensity, but also swirled with constellations of different confusing pieces all mixed together into one tasty concoction. |
